With extensive leadership experience in the medical device industry, he brings expertise in clinical research, sales, marketing, business development, and strategic planning.

At LifeShield, he drives innovation and commercialization across cardiovascular and life‑support technologies, strengthening the group’s presence as a Sino‑German leader in advanced extracorporeal medical systems.

Before joining LifeShield, Michael served as Senior Business Director for a leading global medtech company in Greater China.

Sascha Kuns is Director of LifeShield Global, and Deputy CEO/CFO of enmodes GmbH, where he leads strategic management, performance control, and financial operations for the company’s global business. With expertise spanning management accounting, budgeting, and financial modeling, he combines a disciplined approach to ledger accuracy with collaborative, people‑centered leadership. Under his guidance, enmodes has strengthened its organizational performance and financial transparency, supporting sustainable growth and innovation.

Before joining enmodes, Sascha worked as a business strategy consultant focused on the pharmaceutical and medical technology sectors, advising firms on efficiency, cost structure, and long‑term business development.

Cindy Zhang serves as Regulatory Affairs Lead at LifeShield Global, where she oversees global regulatory strategy and compliance for the company’s advanced cardiovascular and life‑support technologies. With a strong background in medical device regulation, she coordinates submissions and approvals across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring that innovative products reach patients safely and efficiently.

Cindy is valued for her precise attention to detail, collaborative approach, and deep understanding of evolving international standards. She plays a central role in guiding LifeShield’s multidisciplinary teams through complex approval pathways and in upholding the company’s commitment to quality, patient safety, and ethical innovation.

Dr. Ralf Borchardt is the Chief Technology Officer of LifeShield, responsible for guiding research, engineering, and product development across the group’s medical technology portfolio. With a deep background in computational fluid dynamics and cardiovascular device design, he brings expertise in project management, simulation, testing, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Before becoming CTO in 2018, he served as Lead Engineer at enmodes GmbH. Ralf earned his PhD on CFD‑based analysis of gas exchange dynamics in artificial lungs, combining numerical modeling with in‑vitro validation to advance understanding of oxygen and carbon dioxide transfer in extracorporeal systems.

Gary Dong is the Commercial Lead of LifeShield China, responsible for driving market growth and strategic partnerships across the region. He brings deep experience in the medical device sector, combining commercial insight with a strong understanding of clinical needs and regulatory environments. At LifeShield, Gary leads sales, marketing, and channel development efforts that strengthen the group’s presence in China and the broader Asia‑Pacific market.

Known for his results‑driven mindset and collaborative leadership style, he works closely with cross‑functional teams to expand access to LifeShield’s innovative life‑support therapies and to deliver long‑term value to healthcare partners and patients.

Christian spent over a decade building businesses and commercial partnerships across Europe, Africa and Asia. He joined what would become the LifeShield group in Suzhou in 2018, serving as CEO and General Manager of LungShield through the company's formative years. Since July 2020 he is serving as Chief Operating Officer of LifeShield, overseeing operations and organizational development in China and Hong Kong.

Before joining LifeShield, he spent more than seven years in business development across the MENA and APAC regions. His earlier career in project management and finance was grounded in Germany and Luxembourg.

Kun Wang leads Clinical and Medical Affairs at LifeShield China, overseeing clinical strategy, study design, and medical evaluation for the company’s cardiovascular and life‑support technologies. With experience in clinical research management and medical translation, Kun bridges engineering innovation with patient‑centered clinical application. His work ensures that LifeShield’s products meet rigorous scientific, ethical, and regulatory standards from early development through post‑market evaluation.

Known for his analytical approach and collaborative spirit, Kun plays a key role in building partnerships with clinicians and research institutions to generate robust clinical evidence and support LifeShield’s mission to improve outcomes in critical‑care medicine.

Prof. Steinseifer received his doctorate in mechanical engineering from RWTH Aachen University and held senior leadership roles with global medical technology companies before returning to academia. He led Cardiovascular Engineering at the Helmholtz Institute of RWTH Aachen University as a full professor until his retirement in 2025.

His work focuses on artificial organs, heart and lung assist systems, and heart valve technologies. He has published more than 200 journal articles, holds more than 120 patents, co-founded seven medical technology and engineering ventures, and has held leadership roles with ISMCS and ESAO. He also contributes to DIN and ISO standards for cardiac valves and circulatory support devices.
